Call for Experts to Review and Guide the Development of the Global Trends Report 2026
We are excited to announce the launch of the activities leading to the IWA Global Trends & Challenges in Water Science, Research and Management: A compendium of hot topics and features from IWA Specialist Groups Report 2026, a comprehensive publication that will address emerging water challenges, innovative solutions, and the critical role of water science in shaping a sustainable future. To ensure the report’s relevance, clarity, and impact, we are seeking two to three experts in the field of water science, management, and sustainability to volunteer their time to review the proposal and guide the development process in collaboration with the SC2SG members and IWA Secretariat.

ROLE OF EXPERTS
- Review and provide feedback on the conceptual framework and structure of the report.
- Advise on key emerging global trends (e.g., climate change, urbanisation) and technological innovations to include.
- Help refine the narrative flow and ensure the publication is clear, cohesive, and actionable for a wide audience.
- Contribute to the integration of global perspectives, ensuring the report is relevant for diverse regions and stakeholders.
- Work in collaboration with the SC2SG members and IWA Secretariat to finalise the document for its launch at the 2026 IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition.
We aim to create a publication that not only highlights global challenges but also proposes practical solutions for addressing them, empowering decision-makers, industry leaders, and water management professionals worldwide.
ELIGIBILITY
The volunteer experts should be members of IWA Specialist Groups / Clusters Management Committee and/or IWA members who are actively engaged in IWA communities and demonstrate significant expertise and experience in their respective fields, actively contributing to the advancement of water management practices, research, or innovation.
The volunteer experts should be able to dedicate a maximum of 3 hours a month to this project.
